My encounter with the CYTOSKELETON!

The cytoskeleton is in the cytoplasm and I decided to visit a small network of it, before heading to the Mitochondria. It is a network of streets (or as the citizens say, fibers) that help to maintain the shape of the cell, while supporting it!

One type of road is the microtubule. These are hollow tunnels that support and shape Cell, plus they are roads that organells can go through!

The second type of road is the microfilament. These are solid roads that help to contract muscles and allow things to travel.

A type of road support with workers is the intermediate filaments. These hold the roads in place and keep them undamaged!
This holds the roads in place, so they do not become damaged.

Cytoplasm, AKA the streets of Cell

The cytoplasm!

I am finding that the city Cell uses many materials we don't use back at home. For their streets, they use a clear, thick, jellylike material called cytosol. These streets lead you anywhere and everywhere in the city. I am glad because my next stop,  the mitochondria, would be far without it. The streets also contain what different citizens call cytoskeleton fibers, a network of fibers throughout the streets that help the city maintain its shape and gives support.

I finally got through security, but oh wait... There's more! (The cell Membrane)

I arrived just outside the Cell Wall, which citizens call the Cell Membrane. It is the barrier between the Cell Wall and the entire city, keeping Cell held together and let's people in and out, protecting the city from dangerous 'people'. I was an outsider, not being oxygen, carbon dioxide, or steroid, the 'guards' didn't want to let me in, but after a little explanation of who I was and some paper work, I was in through the gates, also known as pores. Now, I am waiting to get through to the cytoplasm!

I have arrived outside the city! (Cell Wall)

I just got to the city of Cell after a long trip and I am ready to go in. I have arrived at the outer layer of the city, which is pretty rigid and strong. The people who built the city used a very interesting material called cellulose! This wall offers protection to the city and allows people (such as some people I met named H₂O, O₂, CO2) to diffuse in and out of the Cell. This wall is also built upon to provide support and grow the cell.

My trip to the city Cell!

I have decided to take a vacation and tour the amazing cell. I will put information up on each place I visit, so you can learn a little more and maybe decide to come one day. These are the 14 places I have decided to visit:
